So the time has come for my little munchkin to leave the nest....she started her first day of pre-school yesterday and it seemed to go pretty well. We have been very lucky to basically be work from home parents so she has always been at home since she was born.
This was a big day for the both of us. As we drove the car to the adorable little montessori school she will call hers for the next 3 years, I couldn't help but feel a tug on my heart strings and a gulp in my throat. It is an odd feeling- this separation. Maybe it is because I nursed for over a year, maybe it is because I'm a control freak but we have such a close connection that I really expected this massive display of drama to come from me. However, our little goose, put on a bright shiny smile, gave and kiss and hug and off she went to the playground. That. Was. it.
I kinda thought, hmm, this just seems right. She is 3 1/2, ready for learning and to be with other kids. The hubs and I went and had a beer to celebrate!
